Useful Tips |

| Taxis and buses are cheap for local journeys, but seriously, I recommend to rent a car. It is by far the best way to get around this vast island! We hired a car to explore the island and did around 2500 kilometers in 14 days!! It was sooooo very worth it! |
Lesvos Overview |
| Ouzo, horses, and legendary names, such as Aesop, Sappho, and Aristotle are the threads that make up the tapestry of Lesvos. There is so much to see and do on this island with its mountains, beaches, seaside cliffs and a petrified forest making up the natural scenery, and monasteries, art colonies, and picturesque villages adding the touch of man to its diverse attractions. |

Lesvos Essentials |
Molyvos - In the tourist capital of the island, visitors can stand on the ramparts of a Genoese castle overlooking the harbour for views of Turkey across the straits.
Agiasos – On an island of beautiful villages, Agiasos is considered the most beautiful, and is where the main church has an icon thought to have been painted by St. Luke.
Moni Ypsilou – On the summit of an extinct volcano, beside a fossilised forest stands a 12th century village with a museum displaying religious treasures.
Skala Eresou – One of the largest resorts on the island where sun worshiping and Ouzo are the order of the day, in the birthplace of the poet Sappho.
Sigri – On the westernmost tip of Lesvos, in the remote village of Sigri, stands this little architectural jewel of a chapel.
