| Don't expect from local people to respect the speed limit. Never trust them on the zebra crossing and any other normal pedestrian crossing. That is for now. Have a nice holiday. Always look out for flying motorbikes from any side which they like to pass you. (overtake). |
| Corfu Airport |
| Located 3 kilometers south of Corfu Town in the area of Kanoni, opposite the islet of Pontikonissi, the airport of Corfu offers all the facilities and services that one can find in all the international airports. Technically called the Ioannis Kapodistrias (or Capodistrias) International Airport, the facility is usually referred to as Kerkyra or Corfu Airport. As it does directly serve international flights, there is a full customs inspections service operating. Corfu is especially popular with British visitors, and many Britain-based airlines offer regular service to Corfu via Corfu Airport.
The airport is served by Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines. Olympic Airways provides at least three flights daily from and to Athens and three flights weekly from and to Thessaloniki. One can reach or leave from the airport by local bus, or by one of the many taxis that are waiting outside. Numerous hotels propose their own mini-bus to effectuate the transfer from and to the airport. Various car rental companies can also be found at the airport. |

| Corfu Airport is about 4 kilometers South of the center of Corfu town. Everyone takes taxis into town, a standard fare should be about $6 but may fluctuate with the destination, amount of luggage, and time of day. |
